Shoshone County VINELink Coverage
Idaho VINE is a statewide notification layer sponsored by the Idaho Sheriffs’ Association. VINELink is its web and app interface. It receives participating Idaho jail and prison custody data, which can include a reporting agency or facility and a custody status or event. Coverage is not a promise that every Shoshone County booking will appear at once or remain available after release.
The service has a different role from IDOC Resident/Client Search. IDOC is the state corrections record for people under its jurisdiction. VINE is built for status checks and alerts. A person leaving Shoshone County Jail may go to the community, IDOC, another jail, or another authority. Match the VINE event to the named custodian.
The IDOC VINE restoration notice documents a service outage and restoration.
The notice is a local reason to confirm each alert with the sheriff or IDOC rather than rely on one system.
Search Shoshone VINELink Records
Begin at the VINELink state chooser and select Idaho. A name can return more than one person. Compare every available identifier and reporting agency before reading a result as the Shoshone County person sought.
- Choose Idaho and open the offender or custody search.
- Enter the person’s name or identification number. Retry reasonable spelling variants if needed.
- Compare the ID, reporting facility, agency, and other visible identifiers to resolve namesakes.
- Open the matched record and read the current custody status or event.
- If it indicates release, confirm the date and event type with the sheriff or IDOC.
A blank search is not proof of release. The booking may not yet be in the feed, or the person may be in another system. The Shoshone County released-inmate search path adds the sheriff, IDOC, and iCourt checks.
Shoshone VINELink Release Fields
The live interface controls which fields appear. Idaho sources support the reporting agency or facility and a custody status or event. They do not promise a photo, charge, exact release minute, reason, destination, or permanent released-result history.
| Visible item | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Custody status or event | A current feed label that requires custodian confirmation |
| Reporting agency | The jail or corrections source responsible for the event |
| Facility | The reported custody location, not a release destination |
| Name or ID | Identifiers used to distinguish the correct person |
| Notification options | Methods offered for that record in the current interface |
The dynamic Idaho VINE search displays the current state fields.
This state screen keeps the lookup tied to Idaho participating agencies, not a federal locator.
Register Shoshone Release Alerts
Registration begins from the correct in-custody record. Phone, text, and email choices depend on the interface, and more than one contact method may be registered. Registration is confidential. The person in custody is not told who registered.
- Open the matched record and select its notification option.
- Choose the offered phone, text, or email methods and enter current details.
- Create a four-digit PIN for telephone notifications.
- Complete the confirmation steps shown by VINELink.
- On a VINE call, enter the PIN followed by the pound sign to acknowledge it.
- Call 866-984-6343 for help or a forgotten PIN.
Without acknowledgment, calls can continue for up to 48 hours. Use a controlled number and keep voicemail available. Multiple methods reduce a contact failure, but all may originate from the same agency event.
Confirm Shoshone VINELink Releases
After an alert, note when it arrived and reopen the record. Call Shoshone County Jail when it is the reporting facility and ask whether the event was bond, time served, court order, or transfer. For IDOC, compare Resident/Client Search and distinguish a Parole row with Released to Supervision from a later Discharged status.
BOP custody belongs in the federal inmate locator. ICE uses its own detainee locator and recent-release scope. If retroactive VINE registration is unavailable, use the displayed event, custodian record, and court disposition.
Note: A VINE alert reports one custody event; it does not prove that every hold, case, or supervision term has ended.
Idaho VINE’s Shoshone Layer
Shoshone County has no separate public release feed documented in the research. Idaho’s statewide VINE layer is useful, but it is not a county release archive. It spans participating Idaho prisons and jails while each source agency owns the event sent to the system.
Reliability comes from pairing channels. VINE supplies the prompt. Shoshone County Jail can identify a local release or transfer. IDOC can verify state custody, parole placement, or discharge. iCourt can preserve a public bond, dismissal, judgment, or later order after a custody screen changes.
After a Shoshone Release Alert
A notification is the start of verification. Save the receipt time, reporting agency, facility, and event wording. Then reopen the live record because the status may have changed since the message was generated. If Shoshone County Jail reported the event, call the sheriff at 208-556-1114 and ask for the custody event rather than asking only whether the person is gone. The useful distinction is release to the community versus transfer to IDOC, another jail, federal custody, or another authority.
When IDOC is the source, compare the person’s detail page. In custody, In community, Discharged with a date, and Active Bench Warrant are state corrections categories. A case row can also show Released to Supervision and Sentence Satisfaction Date. Released to Supervision may refer to parole or probation, so read the row status. Discharged means IDOC jurisdiction ended for the displayed matter and is not always the first day the person left prison.
A court check can explain the authority for a local event. The statewide Idaho iCourt portal may preserve a public bond, dismissal, judgment, sentence, or later order after the custody feed changes. A court order still may not give the exact physical release time, but it helps distinguish a legal release from a transfer or an unresolved hold.
Match Shoshone VINELink Identities
Name matching deserves a separate step. A common name, spelling difference, alias, or incomplete middle name can lead to the wrong record. Use every displayed identifier, including an identification number, reporting facility, and agency. If the result points to an Idaho prison rather than Shoshone County Jail, follow the state corrections route. Do not assume the county named in a court case is the present facility.
A person can also appear in more than one public system for different reasons. IDOC may list state jurisdiction while a county jail is shown as the physical location. Idaho’s sex offender registry can document a registration duty, but it is not a release-date source. Federal BOP and ICE locators each cover their own custody, not an Idaho jail event. These records should be reconciled, not merged into one status.
If no VINE match appears, retry the name and ID, confirm that Idaho was selected, and identify the likely custodian. Then check the sheriff, IDOC, iCourt, BOP, or ICE as the facts require. Absence can reflect timing, coverage, spelling, or a different system. It cannot by itself establish release.
Manage Shoshone VINE Notifications
Telephone registration uses a four-digit PIN to acknowledge a call. That PIN is not an offender number. Keep it available to the person who should receive the notice and avoid placing it in a public note. If another person answers the registered phone, they should know whether they are authorized to acknowledge the message. Otherwise repeat calls may continue.
Phone, text, and email can all improve the chance that a message is seen, but they are not three independent sources. Each may be triggered by the same agency update. Keep contact details current and use voicemail that can receive an automated message. For help or a forgotten telephone PIN, the documented VINE assistance number is 866-984-6343.
VINE advises users not to depend on it alone. Shoshone County has no documented public current roster or release feed to serve as a second automated county view. Direct confirmation therefore matters more: use the named reporting agency, the IDOC detail for a state case, and iCourt for the public legal event.
If the person is already released, the record may no longer offer notification registration. Read any event that remains visible, note its limits, and request the originating custody record. Idaho sources do not promise how long a released profile stays available. They also do not promise a release reason, destination, charge, image, or exact time in the VINELink result.
Shoshone County Jail’s own official page does not publish a discoverable current roster or recent-release interface. A targeted written request can ask for the booking number, custody-event history, release date and time, event type, releasing authority, and transfer destination. Those are requested fields, not guaranteed fields. Availability, redaction, and fees remain agency decisions.
The state path is different. IDOC Resident/Client Search retains public information for active and discharged records within its rules. A discharged result records the end of state correctional jurisdiction. It may not be the earlier date the person first left prison for parole. When VINE and IDOC seem inconsistent, compare the event times and labels before calling the agency.
Federal custody needs a separate check. A BOP locator result marked released or not in BOP custody establishes exit from BOP only. ICE’s official locator has its own current and recent-release scope. Neither result proves that Idaho supervision, another warrant, or another custodian has ended.
Keep a simple event log when timing matters. Record the name searched, identifiers matched, agency, facility, status wording, alert receipt time, and confirmation call. That record makes it easier to explain why an automated message and a later agency answer differ, especially when one reflects transfer processing and the other reflects arrival at the next custodian.
